You can test your web site’s mobile friendliness at http://ready.mobi, a great diagnostic tool that measures page size and shows you how quickly (or painfully slowly) the page will load on wifi, 3G, and GPRS.
Ready.mobi also provides emulators for a few basic mobile displays, including the Nokia N70, Samsung Z105, Sony Ericsson K750i, Motorola v3i, and Sharp GX-10.
Warning: most web sites do not score very well on these tests and the results are not pretty. The iPhone with its relatively advanced Safari browser will spoil you, but basic cell phones such as those featured on the Ready.mobi site have very limited web support. Even relatively simple web designs don’t look very good on basic mobile displays (all the more reason to create a second version of your site that is designed for mobile).
You can also check your sites at dotMobi’s emulator,which will show you how your site looks on the Sony K75 and the Nokia N70.
