Testing Your Web Pages in Adobe BrowserLab and other Web Browser Testing Services

See how your site will look in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome
Adobe BrowserLab is designed to help you preview how your pages will display in a variety of Web browsers, even if you don’t have all of those browsers available on your local hard drive.

Note: BrowserLab is handy, but you'll find a few browser testing sites in this review that Janine likes even better.

1. PREVIEW DREAMWEAVER PAGES WITH BROWSERLAB

In CS5, you’ll find a new BrowserLab panel you can use to preview any open page in your local site. You can also preview a page in Browser Lab by choosing File > Preview in Browser > Adobe BrowserLab. You must have the page open in Dreamweaver and you must be connected to the Internet to use this feature.

2. VIEW PREVIEWS ON BROWSERLAB

When you open a page in BrowserLab, you are connected to the BrowerserLab web site and a screenshot of the page is automatically created using whatever browser was last selected in BrowserLab. Choose View > 2-up View to display the same page in two different browsers side by side, or Onion Skin to place two previews on top of the other, which makes it easier to identify subtle differences.

3. PREVIEW PAGES IN ANY OF THE COMMON BROWSERS OFFERED AT ADOBE BROWSERLAB (CHOOSE WINDOWS OR MAC)

You can preview your pages in a variety of Web browsers in BrowserLab, including the notorious Internet Explorer 6.0. You can also use the Browser Sets option to create a shortcut to any collection of browsers available on the site that you want to use for testing. Note, you cannot click on the links or test interactive features with this tool because it simply takes a screenshot of the page in each browser.
